There's plenty of overlap here with some other content on the site, but that as well will change over time. As things develop, each section will have its own distinctive content.
It started as little more than a dream, a fantasy which I held onto with one free hand, while the other was gripping the rail on the Northern, Victoria or Central Line on a Monday morning.
As much as ten years ago I started watching YouTube videos of people making river tables with epoxy resin, with an enormous sense of jealosy, and seething anger at some of my own life choices.
But now I'm doing it, albeit that the first river table remains some way off at this point! Each object in the pictures there has its own story, which I will relate soon.
My most mature, and easily my craziest project. The LED trays came first, but I thought about chessboards with flashing LEDs around the same time, and then dismissed the idea because it just seemed far too wild and difficult to accomplish.
But I did it. There was a very long development process, a bit longer than the trays, and I'm still working on balancing the colours with the strength of the lights.
One thing is for sure. These photos don't do them justice. I'm going to need to take some better ones soon!

The first attempt at making one of these was in October 2023. That one didn't even come close to my intentions. It's gathering dust now in the cellar. After a bit of trial and error, however, I got there.
The product is still in development, and will continue to evolve over time (with much better photos soon, sorry!), but it's now a mature concept.

Not so worthless, I believe! I normally make these with the resin that is left over when I'm working on larger projects, but that doesn't mean that any less love or passion goes into them.
Indeed, it's almost certainly true that these are some of the more beautiful objects that I've created, and that quite often the larger object that I was making at the same time didn't turn out so wonderful.
Not for sale! Not yet, anyway. This popup, which like the others will eventually become a page, is just to show a few personal projects, some of which are complete, some of which are still works in progress, and some of which should evolve into products.
Among the latter I include the epoxy flower-presses, which actually pre-date the trays and chessboards, but which I haven't worked on for some time. The lampstand which you see here was a salvage operation, now operational, and the ladder is a very long term project, which will become a planter, I think!
I hope you like the display here, and I also hope you appreciate the website itself. A website devoted to design should itself have a nice design.
I've done quite diverse things in my life, so I needed more than one site. Work in progress. When all is done you'll see a few different styles, and maybe you'll see something that would fit your brand. If so, use the contact form to get in touch.
You could just get AI to do it. I consult it every day, but I also believe that a beautiful website is still going to need a human touch for a long time to come.
